Houston R&B group Sentury is extending a run on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with its latest single, “Don’t Mind,” following two consecutive No. 1 songs and ahead of planned collaborations with Rick Ross and Jagged Edge.
“Don’t Mind” has climbed to No. 6 on the chart, according to information provided by the group’s representatives. The single has generated more than 16 million radio audience impressions and millions of streams.
The song follows “Only Human” and “Forever,” both of which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. The back-to-back chart-toppers marked a breakthrough for the independently released group, which records under Gateway Records.
“Forever” reached No. 1 in April after a 30-week climb, becoming Sentury’s second leader on the chart. “Only Human,” the group’s reinterpretation of Jeffrey Osborne’s 1990 song, had previously reached the top in 2025.
The quartet, made up of Leo, CJ, AJ and Rico, is now preparing new music that includes collaborations with R&B group Jagged Edge and rapper Rick Ross. Details and release dates for the collaborations have not yet been announced.
Sentury describes its music as “grown man R&B,” drawing on the harmonies and storytelling associated with earlier R&B groups while incorporating contemporary production.
The group carries that approach into “Don’t Mind,” which continues a romantic narrative established in “Forever.”
Leo described “Don’t Mind” as “a follow-up to the love story in ‘Forever’. The couple is planning their wedding and life together.”
Sentury’s current independent run follows an earlier period with a major label. The group later moved to Gateway Records, a label founded by Leo, giving the members greater control over their music and promotion.
The group traces its beginnings to Houston churches, where its members met while singing at services and fellowships as teenagers. Leo, AJ and Rico began performing together in 2011 before CJ joined to complete the quartet.
Since then, Sentury has placed multiple songs on Billboard charts and performed at Essence Festival. Its music has also appeared on R&B playlists from Amazon Music and Pandora.
“Only Human” became a turning point for the group. Released independently through Gateway Records, the song reworked Osborne’s original while retaining its R&B foundation. It eventually reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Sentury followed with “Forever,” a song centered on long-term commitment and devotion. Its April rise to No. 1 gave the group consecutive chart leaders before “Don’t Mind” began its own climb.
The group is now looking to carry that momentum into its forthcoming releases with Rick Ross and Jagged Edge as it continues building its audience as an independent R&B act.
