Lolo Zouaï released her third studio album “Reverie” on Friday, a project shaped by personal loss and creative reinvention that underscores her growing independence and cross-cultural reach in pop and R&B.

The New York-based artist said the album reflects a three-year period of change, both personally and musically. “This record was made through three years of grief, growth and reflection. I had to lose myself to find myself again.”

The 14-track album blends alternative R&B, hip-hop and pop with Arabic influences, continuing a signature style that moves fluidly between French and English. That bilingual approach has become central to Zouaï’s identity as an artist navigating both American and European music scenes.

The release arrives as Zouaï expands her global footprint, with recent collaborations and songwriting credits that stretch across genres and markets. She recently teamed up with Yves on the single “NAIL,” performing the track together at a headline show in Paris. Her past collaborators include artists across pop, hip-hop and electronic music, while her songwriting work includes contributions to projects by K-pop group NewJeans and R&B artist H.E.R..

Alongside the album, Zouaï released a music video for “Baggy Jeans,” one of the project’s focus tracks. Directed by Annika White and Carl White of Clam Studios, the video highlights the track’s playful tone and stylized production, anchored by the lyric, “If you in Paris, tell me how your fashion weak.”

Several songs on “Reverie” draw directly from Zouaï’s personal history and cultural background. “Desert Rose pt 2,” performed for A COLORS SHOW, references her Algerian heritage and themes of identity, while tracks like “Holding On” explore the tension between grief and moving forward. The lead single, “3AM in San Francisco,” shifts between languages as it reflects her dual upbringing.

Zouaï has built a following that spans continents, with more than 600 million streams and touring experience that includes supporting Dua Lipa on a global tour. She has also headlined her own international tours and partnered with major fashion brands, reinforcing her presence beyond music.

“Reverie” positions Zouaï within a growing group of artists whose careers are defined by global collaboration and genre-blending. The album’s release highlights how artists are increasingly building audiences across languages and markets, while using personal storytelling as a throughline for broader appeal.
