With her debut EP “This Is A Kindness” now released, emerging artist JULITH is using one of its standout tracks, “Right From Left,” to take aim at the constant stream of unsolicited opinions shaping modern life.

The song, which arrived ahead of the April 10 project, has taken on new context as part of the full seven-track EP, framing JULITH’s broader message about autonomy, accountability and personal boundaries. At its core, “Right From Left” reflects a familiar tension for listeners navigating social pressure and outside judgment.

“It often feels like everyone has something to say about everything,” JULITH said. “People like to drop their unsolicited advice without having the context or expertise. This song calls out that dynamic and advocates for doing whatever feels right to me regardless of the judgments of others.”

The track sits alongside earlier singles “JAB!,” “Pure Spite” and “Cut From the Sequel,” which together anchor a project rooted in emotional intensity and self-examination. Rather than offering a single narrative, the EP moves through different states of reflection, blending sharp commentary with personal storytelling.

The release also marks a turning point in JULITH’s artistic identity. Formerly performing under her given name, Julia Pratt, she adopted the mononym as part of what she describes as a creative reset, signaling a shift toward more direct and unfiltered expression.

“This Is A Kindness” explores themes of healing and responsibility, with JULITH channeling strength, recovery and what she describes as feminine rage into a genre-blending body of work. Across the EP, she leans into vulnerability while maintaining a sense of control over her narrative.

Her songwriting is grounded in lived experience. JULITH spent much of her childhood moving frequently, encounters that exposed her early to addiction, recovery and the complexities of personal healing. She began processing those experiences through poetry before transitioning into music, a practice that continues to shape her approach.

Outside of her music, JULITH is a survivor and advocates for individuals navigating sexual assault and domestic violence reporting, volunteering with nonprofit organizations. She is also involved in mental health and substance abuse advocacy, work that mirrors many of the themes explored in her songs.

With the EP now out, “Right From Left” stands as a defining entry point into JULITH’s world, capturing a message that runs throughout the project. In a landscape filled with competing voices, the track underscores a simple idea: not every opinion needs to be followed.
