There’s something deeply personal about clothing that dares to embrace imperfection, and in Won Hundred’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled “Versatility,” this philosophy is more than a theme—it’s a lived experience.
At Copenhagen Fashion Week, Won Hundred told a story that explores the beauty in imperfection, the tension between ruggedness and refinement and the nuanced journeys that shape who we are.
This collection, an evolution from their Autumn/Winter 2024 line “Surrender,” is where creative boundaries are pushed, with Founder and Creative Director Nikolaj Nielsen at the helm.
I was struck by how the setting itself mirrored the collection’s theme. An ordinary, untouched backyard, juxtaposed with restored vintage Porsche cars, set the stage for a celebration of contradictions. It was clear from the start that this wasn’t going to be a typical fashion show.
As the first models stepped onto the runway, it became apparent that Nikolaj Nielsen was inviting us into a world where the rugged meets the refined.
“I’ve always been drawn to the sphere between extremes, where beauty exists in the duality of the rugged and the polished,” Nikolaj Nielsen said. “This is the space where Won Hundred has always thrived, and with this collection, we have truly discovered and understood its essence.”
This essence, as it turns out, is a deep appreciation for the imperfect. The denim pieces—central to Won Hundred’s identity—were not just garments, but statements.
“The collection revisits the spirit of denim, interpreted in a raw yet subtle manner,” Nikolaj Nielsen said. “Distressed washes and deliberate imperfections become signatures of perfection, embodying the philosophy that the imperfect is indeed perfect.
“Asymmetrical patterns in womenswear and the playful, nonchalant styling of leather belts add layers of depth and intrigue,” he added.
As the models moved, there was an undeniable synergy between the rugged and the polished, a visual and emotional journey that resonated deeply.
Nielsen’s vision for this collection extends beyond just aesthetics. It’s about the stories we tell through our clothes, the way we navigate the contradictions of life and how we find beauty in the unexpected.
“Versatility” is more than just a name—it’s a philosophy that asks us to embrace every part of ourselves, especially the parts that aren’t perfect.
When Denim and Leather Tell a New Story

The first thing that catches the eye is the oversized denim trench coat—a bold piece that takes the ruggedness of classic denim and transforms it into something almost regal.
It’s not just the cut, which flirts with the oversized trend without overwhelming the wearer, but the texture that tells a story of worn-in, lived-in resilience. This coat is a narrative of exploration, of weathering the elements, of coming out stronger on the other side.
Beneath the trench, a sheer knit top adds a layer of delicacy, a whisper of vulnerability that contrasts beautifully with the coat’s heft. The top, with its almost ethereal quality, feels like a secret—something that’s meant to be glimpsed, not fully revealed. It’s a masterstroke of subtlety, hinting at the strength found in softness.
And then there are the leather trousers, sleek and unapologetic. They ground the outfit, adding a touch of edge that prevents the ensemble from veering too far into the realm of the ethereal.
The leather, with its smooth, almost liquid sheen, plays off the rough texture of the denim, creating a dialogue between the two materials that feels as effortless as it is intentional.
What’s particularly striking about this outfit is how it encapsulates the spirit of Won Hundred’s SS25 collection—“Versatility.”
It’s about embracing the contradictions that make us who we are. It’s about finding beauty in the unpolished, about recognizing that strength and softness, roughness and refinement, can coexist in a way that feels both modern and timeless.
As the model glides down the runway, there’s a quiet confidence in the way the outfit moves. It’s as if each piece knows its place, yet is fully aware of the power it wields in combination with the others. The effect is mesmerizing—a look that challenges us to rethink our own notions of style, to embrace the contradictions that make us unique.
Stripping Back to Move Forward

The outfit is an exercise in denim minimalism. A cropped, collarless denim jacket paired with high-waisted jeans, both in the perfect shade of worn-in indigo, offers a stripped-back look that is as utilitarian as it is effortlessly cool.
The decision to go shirtless beneath the jacket doesn’t just add an edge. It draws attention to the purity of the denim itself, unadorned and unembellished, standing as the hero of the ensemble.
This is a look that speaks to the primal appeal of denim—a material that, in its essence, represents durability, resilience and a certain ruggedness that never goes out of style. But in true Won Hundred fashion, this isn’t just about reliving the glory days of denim. There’s a modernity here, a sharpness in the cut and an ease in the styling that makes it clear: this isn’t your dad’s jeans-and-jacket combo.
The model’s tousled hair, almost obscuring his face, adds to the laid-back, nonchalant vibe of the outfit. It’s as if he’s stepped out of the 70s and into the future, bridging decades with an ease that only denim can provide.
The leather boots, in a warm chestnut hue, anchor the look, adding a touch of refinement without stealing the spotlight from the main event.
What makes this look so compelling is its authenticity. It’s not trying too hard, and that’s precisely why it works. There’s a quiet confidence in the way it reimagines the classic denim-on-denim ensemble, reminding us that sometimes, the most impactful style statements are the simplest ones.
Cocooning in Leather

This particular look, a head-to-toe exploration of deep brown leather, feels like a modern-day armor—softened at the edges, yet unyielding in its intent. The jacket, fitted yet not restrictive, carries the weight of tradition but sheds the unnecessary bulk. It’s the kind of piece that makes you stand taller, shoulders back, with the knowledge that you’re encased in something timeless, something that speaks to both history and futurism.
The trousers, wide-legged and fluid, are a study in contrasts. While leather often conjures images of stiffness, these pants move with a surprising ease, almost defying the material’s natural characteristics.
They flow, rather than cling, giving the wearer a sense of freedom—freedom to move, to occupy space, to assert their presence without uttering a word.
But what truly elevates this look is the interplay of light and shadow across the leather’s surface. The natural sheen of the material catches the light in unexpected ways, revealing the depth of color that one might miss at first glance. It’s not just brown. It’s a spectrum of earth tones that shift and change with every step, every movement. It’s a reminder that simplicity, when executed with such precision, can be profoundly complex.
The white boots, a stark contrast to the warmth of the leather, ground the outfit in modernity. They’re an unexpected choice, a disruption in the flow that makes you pause and reconsider the entire ensemble. It’s in this disruption that the look finds its edge—an edge that is both sharp and soft, much like the woman who wears it.
This outfit is not for the faint of heart. It’s for the woman who understands that fashion is more than just clothes—it’s a statement, a shield, a form of self-expression that transcends trends. Won Hundred’s SS25 collection invites us to rethink our relationship with leather, to see it not just as a material, but as a canvas for exploring the nuances of identity, power and elegance.
Denim Done Differently

This look, centered around denim in its most recognizable forms—a shirt and shorts—challenges the notion of casual wear. At first glance, it’s deceptively simple: a light-washed, oversized denim shirt paired with knee-length shorts in a richer indigo. But look closer, and you’ll find that the subtleties are where the magic happens.
The shirt, with its generous cut and slightly faded fabric, feels like a relic from another time—perhaps borrowed from a father’s wardrobe or unearthed at a vintage shop. Yet, it’s the details that bring it into the present: the oversized chest pocket, the deliberately distressed spots and the way it’s tucked in just enough to suggest a certain nonchalance. This is denim that’s been lived in, but in the best way possible.
The shorts are an exercise in contrast, offering a nod to the 90s while being distinctly of the moment. Their boxy silhouette and just-right length are both practical and stylish, bridging the gap between nostalgia and modernity. The absence of any overt embellishments allows the rich texture of the denim to take center stage.
But the real twist in this ensemble lies in the accessories: a cowhide belt that injects a touch of the wild west, and those boots—black, pointed-toe and unapologetically bold. They add an unexpected edge to the otherwise laid-back outfit, challenging the viewer to reconsider what casual can truly mean. The boots are a statement, a declaration that comfort doesn’t have to come at the expense of style.
As the model walks the runway, there’s an ease to his stride, a confidence that comes from knowing that his outfit is more than the sum of its parts. It’s a reminder that fashion doesn’t always have to be loud to be impactful. Sometimes, it’s in the quiet evolution of the familiar where the most profound statements are made.
The Subtlety of Grey

At first glance, the dress is a study in simplicity: a sleeveless shift with clean lines and a muted grey palette. But as with all great design, the devil is in the details. The dress is not merely grey—it’s a spectrum of greys, from charcoal to ash, that subtly shift and blend across the fabric.
This isn’t just a piece you wear; it’s a piece that wears you, reflecting the light, the mood and the moment in a way that feels almost chameleon-like.
The fabric, though classic in its denim roots, has been treated with an eye for texture and tone. The slight distressing, strategically placed and not overdone, adds a lived-in feel that contrasts beautifully with the dress’s otherwise polished silhouette. It’s a nod to imperfection, a reminder that true beauty often lies in the flaws.
What makes this outfit particularly compelling is its versatility. The cut of the dress is timeless—neither too tight nor too loose, it skims the body in a way that’s both flattering and comfortable. It’s a piece that can easily transition from day to night, from casual to formal, simply by changing the accessories. And yet, it’s strong enough to stand on its own.
Paired with knee-high black boots, the look takes on an almost utilitarian edge, grounding the ethereal qualities of the dress with a touch of toughness. The boots, with their sleek leather and solid heel, add a modern, urban vibe that contrasts beautifully with the softness of the dress. It’s an unexpected pairing that works precisely because it’s unexpected—a perfect example of the magic that happens when opposites attract.
This outfit is not about making a loud statement. It’s about making a lasting impression. It’s for the woman who knows that style isn’t about following trends, but about understanding what works for her and embracing it with confidence.
Textural Tension

This look is a lesson in balance. At its core, it’s a study in contrasts: the soft, oversized denim top paired with the structured, glossy leather shorts. The denim, with its almost heathered appearance, feels like a well-worn favorite—comfortable, familiar and forgiving. It’s the kind of piece that you reach for on lazy mornings when you want to feel both cozy and chic. But don’t let its softness fool you; the silhouette, slightly oversized and boxy, is intentional. It’s about volume, about presence, without overpowering.
The leather shorts, on the other hand, are all about structure. They sit high on the waist, cinched by a bold belt that adds just the right amount of edge. The glossy finish of the leather catches the light in a way that contrasts beautifully with the matte denim, creating a textural dialogue that’s both subtle and striking. These shorts aren’t just about showing off legs. They’re about making a statement—one of confidence, of control, of owning your space.
But the real magic of this outfit lies in the details. The denim bag slung casually over the shoulder adds a touch of nonchalance, a reminder that fashion can be both functional and fabulous. It’s the perfect companion piece, echoing the tones of the top while adding a layer of practicality to the ensemble.
And then there are the shoes—chunky, white clogs that ground the look in reality. They’re an unexpected choice, but one that works precisely because it’s unexpected. The clogs add a touch of Scandinavian simplicity to the outfit, a nod to comfort without sacrificing style. They complete the look in a way that feels fresh and modern, yet somehow timeless.
