In a show that felt less like a traditional runway and more like a journey through a parallel universe, (di)vision and The Ordinary redefined the boundaries of fashion and beauty during their Spring/Summer 2025 presentation at Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Hosted in the immersive Art Maze venue, the event, titled “The Dream of Steam City,” was an evocative blend of sustainability, innovation and an audacious reimagining of urban aesthetics.

(di)vision, known for its avant-garde approach to upcycling, and The Ordinary, the disruptor of the skincare industry, joined forces to create a collection that spoke to the ethos of both brands: transparency, creativity and a challenge to the status quo.

“The Ordinary has been the major force behind the universe for the show’s setting,” said Simon Wick who is the Co-Founder & Creative Director of (di)vision. “I wanted to work with someone I respected, who represented a simple and clean universe, to contrast with my colorful and stimulating one.

“Like many of my designs, it’s always about contrast,” he added. “Steam City is the outcome of what (di)vision and The Ordinary look like combined.”

The garments on display were not just clothing—they were statements, intricately designed to reflect a world where fashion and function meet in a harmonious balance of the past and the future.

The collection itself was a visual feast. (di)vision’s signature use of upcycled materials was on full display, with pieces that ranged from distressed patchwork denim to reimagined vintage lace.

The menswear and womenswear alike played with contrasts—fairy grunge met Tokyo street style, and maximalism was tamed by the clean lines of repurposed jersey and leather. There was a palpable sense of nostalgia, yet each piece felt decidedly modern, a nod to a future where sustainability is not just an option but a necessity.

Among the standout looks was a voluminous coat made entirely of stuffed animals, a whimsical yet poignant commentary on waste and the transient nature of consumer goods. Another striking piece was a full look crafted from The Ordinary’s packaging, a testament to the creative potential of materials often considered disposable.

These designs were not just fashion. They were art, and they challenged the audience to reconsider the very fabric of their world.

What truly set this show apart was the seamless integration of fashion and skincare. The Ordinary’s role in crafting the “universe” of Steam City was evident not just in the styling but in the very atmosphere of the show. Models walked the runway with dewy, gel-like complexions, their skin glowing with the subtle sheen of The Ordinary’s iconic serums. The minimalist, natural makeup looks complemented the maximalist fashion, creating a perfect balance that echoed the show’s theme of contrast and cohesion.

From the exclusive upcycled tote bags given to guests to the meticulously coordinated lab coats worn by the staff, every detail of “The Dream of Steam City” was considered and executed with a level of precision that speaks to the vision behind it.

It was a show that didn’t just present clothes. It presented a way of thinking, a way of living that is as conscientious as it is stylish.

(di)vision and The Ordinary have proven that when fashion and beauty come together with a shared vision, the results can be nothing short of extraordinary. This SS25 collection is not just a glimpse into the future of fashion—it’s a call to action for the industry to embrace sustainability, creativity and authenticity as the new norm.

The Bold Elegance of Leather and Minimalism

This particular look encapsulates the essence of the entire show—a masterclass in contrasts that evoke both power and vulnerability.

At the heart of this outfit is a voluminous brown leather jacket that speaks volumes without uttering a word.

The oversized silhouette, with its dropped shoulders and slightly exaggerated sleeves, adds a rugged edge, reminiscent of a time when fashion was as much about rebellion as it was about expression.

The jacket’s rich, worn-in leather tells a story of its own, a narrative of durability and timeless appeal that aligns perfectly with (di)vision’s ethos of sustainability and upcycling.

Beneath the jacket, the ensemble takes a turn towards the audacious with a barely-there black bralette and matching mini shorts. The simplicity of the undergarments juxtaposes sharply with the heaviness of the outerwear, creating a visual tension that is both arresting and alluring. It’s a nod to the idea that femininity can be both soft and strong, and that vulnerability is not a weakness but a choice.

The footwear, a pair of intricately detailed black boots, ties the entire look together with a fierce, grounded energy. The boots, with their rugged texture and bold design, add a touch of utilitarian grit, reinforcing the idea that this is a woman who is ready to take on the world, on her own terms.

Overall, this look is a powerful statement on the evolving narrative of women’s fashion. It’s about embracing contradictions—pairing the heavy with the light, the structured with the fluid, the masculine with the feminine. (di)vision has created a look that is as much about the clothes as it is about the attitude, setting a new standard for what it means to be both fashionable and formidable in 2025.

Nostalgia Wrapped

In an audacious yet endearing turn on the runway, (di)vision’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week served up a look that could only be described as a celebration of childhood memories wrapped in avant-garde flair.

This particular outfit, a voluminous coat entirely constructed from an assortment of stuffed animals, is a striking reflection on (di)vision’s commitment to upcycling and imaginative design.

The coat, a patchwork of plush toys in various shapes, sizes and colors, is not just a garment—it’s a wearable art piece. Each stuffed animal appears thoughtfully placed, creating a tapestry of tactile nostalgia that evokes the innocence and whimsy of youth. The garment’s oversized silhouette adds to its theatrical presence, ensuring that it commands attention and invites conversation.

What makes this piece particularly compelling is the way it straddles the line between fashion and social commentary. By repurposing something as universally recognizable as a childhood toy, (di)vision challenges the conventional notions of luxury and waste.

It’s a reminder of the transient nature of both material goods and childhood itself, yet it also offers a playful critique of our consumerist culture, where items that once held sentimental value are often discarded without a second thought.

Paired with rugged black combat boots, the outfit balances its playful elements with a touch of grunge, grounding the otherwise fantastical piece in a sense of urban reality. The boots add a sense of strength and defiance, making this look as much about power as it is about play.

In essence, this look from (di)vision is a masterclass in how fashion can evoke emotion and provoke thought while still being utterly wearable. It’s a bold, imaginative statement that challenges the status quo and invites us all to reconsider the stories our clothes tell.

Patchwork Punk

(di)vision once again pushed the boundaries of fashion with a look that embodies the brand’s core philosophy of upcycling and individuality. This outfit is an example of how (di)vision seamlessly blends urban streetwear with high fashion, resulting in an ensemble that feels both rebellious and effortlessly cool.

The centerpiece of this look is the deconstructed overall, a garment that tells a story of its own through its patchwork of various materials. Denim, plaid and distressed fabrics come together in a chaotic harmony, each piece seemingly torn and stitched together with purpose and intent.

The raw edges and uneven hems add a sense of unfinished beauty, as if the garment is still evolving, much like the person wearing it.

Underneath the overalls, a vibrant yellow top adds a pop of color, injecting a sense of playfulness and energy into the look. The loose fit of the top contrasts with the rugged texture of the overalls, creating a balance that is both visually striking and comfortable.

This combination speaks to (di)vision’s knack for layering unexpected elements to create something entirely new and exciting.

The black combat boots, a recurring element in (di)vision’s collection, anchor the outfit with a sense of toughness and resilience. They ground the overall aesthetic, ensuring that the look remains edgy rather than overly playful.

This ensemble is a celebration of contrast—between the old and the new, the rough and the refined. It’s a powerful reminder that fashion is not just about looking good. It’s about expressing who you are and where you’ve been.

(di)vision’s deconstructed overalls are for those who are unafraid to wear their history on their sleeve—literally and figuratively.

Whimsical Take on Gothic Romance

In a stunning blend of ethereal beauty and gothic edge, (di)vision’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection delivered a look that feels like a modern fairy tale with a rebellious twist. This ensemble, with its intricate lacework and playful accents, is a striking example of how the brand continues to push the boundaries of traditional fashion narratives.

The dress itself is a delicate masterpiece, constructed from sheer white lace that wraps around the model like a whisper. The asymmetrical design, with its flowing, layered hemline and high-neck detail, exudes a sense of romanticism that harks back to a bygone era.

Yet, the look is anything but dated—small, colorful embellishments scattered across the lace add a touch of whimsy, making it clear that this is a dress meant for the dreamers of today.

What truly sets this outfit apart, however, is the way it pairs this delicate dress with rugged black combat boots. The boots ground the ensemble, adding a powerful contrast that turns the sweet lace into something daring and unexpected. It’s a reminder that femininity can be strong, and that softness does not equate to fragility.

The styling is kept minimal, allowing the dress and boots to speak for themselves. This choice highlights the beauty of the materials and the careful craftsmanship that went into creating the look. It’s a celebration of contrasts—the lightness of lace against the heaviness of leather, the purity of white against the starkness of black.

This look from (di)vision’s SS25 collection is more than just fashion. It’s a statement. It challenges traditional notions of beauty and strength, offering a vision of modern femininity that is as multifaceted as the women who will wear it.

Grunge Reimagined

In a striking ode to the gritty authenticity of street culture, (di)vision delivered an ensemble that perfectly captures the brand’s ethos of raw, unfiltered expression. This look, consisting of a simple white tank top paired with heavily distressed cargo pants, is a masterclass in how minimalism and deconstruction can coexist in perfect harmony.

The white tank top, emblazoned with (di)vision and The Ordinary’s logos, serves as more than just a garment—it’s a canvas, a statement piece that reflects the collaborative spirit of the collection. The clean, crisp lines of the top are a stark contrast to the ruggedness of the pants, creating a visual tension that is both compelling and rebellious.

The cargo pants are the true standout of this look. Constructed from what appears to be a patchwork of worn, frayed fabrics, they evoke a sense of history and resilience. The distressed details, with their raw edges and uneven textures, give the pants a lived-in feel, as if they’ve seen countless adventures and are ready for more. The earthy tones add to the sense of groundedness, anchoring the outfit in the world of the real and the tactile.

Accessories like the white sunglasses and the low-slung belt add a touch of personality without overshadowing the main elements of the look. The overall styling is kept deliberately casual, underscoring the idea that fashion should be as much about comfort and self-expression as it is about aesthetics.

This look is a celebration of contrasts—clean versus distressed, polished versus rugged. It’s a reminder that fashion can be both simple and profound, and that sometimes, the most powerful statements are made with the most unassuming pieces. (di)vision has once again proven that it is at the forefront of redefining modern streetwear, making it as much about attitude as it is about style.

Patchwork Perfection

(di)vision’s SS25 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week has once again proven the brand’s ability to reimagine everyday staples into something extraordinary. This look, centered around a patchwork hoodie, is a prime example of how the brand infuses creativity and sustainability into streetwear.

The hoodie, a vibrant collage of different fabrics and patterns, is an eye-catching piece that exudes individuality. Each patch tells a different story—ranging from animal prints to camouflage—creating a dynamic, layered effect that is both visually stimulating and rich in texture. The meticulous patchwork speaks to (di)vision’s commitment to upcycling, transforming what could be considered scraps into a cohesive, fashion-forward garment.

Paired with simple olive green shorts, the outfit maintains a balance between the elaborate and the understated, allowing the hoodie to be the focal point. The choice of shorts keeps the look casual and wearable, perfect for a laid-back day in the city while still making a statement.

The black combat boots and white sunglasses add a touch of rebellion to the ensemble, ensuring that the overall vibe remains edgy and unapologetic. These accessories complement the hoodie’s eclectic nature, making the outfit feel both put-together and effortlessly cool.

This look is quintessential (di)vision: bold, innovative and reflective of a world where fashion is not just about clothing but about making conscious choices. The patchwork hoodie stands as a testament to the idea that fashion can be sustainable, unique and accessible, all while pushing the boundaries of traditional streetwear.

Romance Reinvented

(di)vision’s SS25 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week continues to blur the lines between contrasting styles, and this look exemplifies the brand’s innovative approach to merging the unexpected. A harmonious fusion of athletic and romantic elements, this outfit is a bold statement on how fashion can transcend traditional categories.

The upper half of the look features a sporty white top with a clean, minimalistic design, accented by the iconic Umbro logo. However, what sets this piece apart is the incorporation of delicate lace sleeves that extend beyond the typical sportswear silhouette. The sheer, intricate lace adds a layer of elegance and sophistication, transforming what could have been a straightforward athletic top into something far more complex and intriguing.

Paired with wide-legged, distressed denim jeans, the outfit maintains a relaxed, laid-back vibe. The jeans, with their frayed edges and raw hems, contribute to the deconstructed aesthetic that (di)vision is known for. The combination of the soft, flowing lace with the sturdy, worn denim creates a striking contrast that speaks to the brand’s commitment to challenging fashion norms.

The addition of a baseball cap, adorned with a playful graphic, ties the look together, reinforcing the athleisure element while adding a touch of personality. It’s an accessory that grounds the ensemble, keeping it approachable and wearable.

Overall, this outfit from (di)vision’s SS25 collection is a masterful exercise in contrasts. It’s a look that refuses to be categorized, blending sport and romance, structure and fluidity, simplicity and intricacy. It’s a reflection on (di)vision’s ability to push the boundaries of fashion, offering a fresh perspective on how we can dress in ways that are both innovative and deeply personal.
